Sales Representative (Industrial Steel Products) (#26-482)

Position Overview

The Sales Representative plays a key role in supporting revenue growth by managing customer relationships, preparing accurate quotes, processing orders, and partnering closely with outside sales and operations teams. This role is well-suited for a proactive sales professional who enjoys a fast-paced, customer-driven, and technically focused environment. Day-to-day work blends sales outreach, account support, order coordination, and product guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and long-term loyalty

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound customer inquiries related to products, pricing, availability, and specifications

  • Prepare quotes and process customer orders accurately and efficiently using CRM and ERP systems

  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date customer records, communications, and follow-ups within the CRM system

  • Provide ongoing customer service support, including issue resolution, shipment tracking, and coordination with internal teams

  • Manage returns, credits, and post-sale needs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Support outside sales efforts by assisting with quotes, sourcing materials, and sharing relevant account insights

  • Proactively prospect new business through phone and email outreach, including follow-up on warm and cold leads

  • Track competitor pricing, market activity, and industry trends, sharing insights with management to support sales strategy and growth opportunities

  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and leadership to ensure product availability and timely delivery

  • Participate in team meetings to review sales performance, goals, and improvement opportunities

  • Contribute to a collaborative, professional, and productive team environment

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous inside sales experience within pipe, steel, metals, or related industrial markets is strongly preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust and close business

  • Comfort working with CRM and ERP platforms and other sales-related technology

  • Ability to assess market conditions and competitor activity to adjust sales approaches

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities

  • Experience providing technical product guidance, particularly related to steel pipe, is a plus
