Business Development (Pump Sales) (#26-483)

Location: Houston, TX

Position Summary

This Business Development, Pump Sales role focuses on developing new customer opportunities and driving revenue growth for engineered pump solutions and packaged systems. This position sells centrifugal pumps, turbine pumps, fire pump packages, and related engineered solutions to industrial, municipal, EPC, OEM, and end-user customers.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities for pump and engineered system solutions.

  • Build and execute sales strategies to grow market share and diversify customer relationships.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, and closing.

  • Conduct regular customer meetings to assess needs, present solutions, and close orders.

  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue and booking targets.

Technical & Proposal Support

  • Provide technical guidance to customers and recommend appropriate pump solutions based on application needs.

  • Collaborate with applications and product engineers to develop accurate proposals and quotations.

  • Review customer specifications, bid documents, and drawings to ensure compliance solutions.

  • Participate in internal project review meetings and support project execution as needed.

Account Management & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer decision-makers and influencers.

  • Work closely with internal sales representatives and account managers to ensure consistent customer engagement.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.

  • Maintain accurate opportunity and customer activity records within CRM systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or sales engineering within pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial systems.

  • Strong understanding of centrifugal pumps, turbine pumps, and pump components.

  • Ability to interpret equipment specifications and technical documentation.

  • Proven success closing complex, technical sales.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Willingness to travel 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience selling engineered or packaged pump systems into EPCs, OEMs, or industrial environments.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce or Dynamics 365.

  • Strong pipeline development and forecasting skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering, and operations teams.
