Project Engineer (Pumps) (#26-484)

Location: Katy, TX

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project proposals, specifications, and inspection reports to determine engineering requirements, feasibility, and execution procedures

  • Create, review, and approve engineering drawings, including general arrangements, fabrication drawings, and layouts

  • Utilize and coordinate shared drafting resources within the engineering department

  • Review and approve specifications for engineered equipment and systems

  • Manage project timelines to support required delivery schedules

  • Assist the Project Manager with preparation and review of customer documentation

  • Perform drawing, specification, and document review and approval throughout the project lifecycle

  • Interpret and develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Ensure designs and documentation align with applicable industry codes and standards

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering

  • Approximately 5 years of experience with rotating equipment and engineered systems, including pumps, motors, piping, valves, instrumentation, and modular skid packages

  • Experience with oil and gas equipment and fabricated pumping systems

  • Strong hands-on experience using SolidWorks, with proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Strong skills in reading, developing, and reviewing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, AWS D1.1, and applicable API specifications

  • Project management experience with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities

  • Demonstrates leadership ability while maintaining a collaborative team-oriented approach
