Position Overview
The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in supporting revenue growth by managing customer relationships, preparing accurate quotes, processing orders, and partnering closely with outside sales and operations teams. This role is well-suited for a proactive sales professional who enjoys a fast-paced, customer-driven, and technically focused environment. Day-to-day work blends sales outreach, account support, order coordination, and product guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and long-term loyalty
Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound customer inquiries related to products, pricing, availability, and specifications
Prepare quotes and process customer orders accurately and efficiently using CRM and ERP systems
Maintain detailed and up-to-date customer records, communications, and follow-ups within the CRM system
Provide ongoing customer service support, including issue resolution, shipment tracking, and coordination with internal teams
Manage returns, credits, and post-sale needs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
Support outside sales efforts by assisting with quotes, sourcing materials, and sharing relevant account insights
Proactively prospect new business through phone and email outreach, including follow-up on warm and cold leads
Track competitor pricing, market activity, and industry trends, sharing insights with management to support sales strategy and growth opportunities
Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and leadership to ensure product availability and timely delivery
Participate in team meetings to review sales performance, goals, and improvement opportunities
Contribute to a collaborative, professional, and productive team environment
Skills & Qualifications
Previous inside sales experience within pipe, steel, metals, or related industrial markets is strongly preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust and close business
Comfort working with CRM and ERP platforms and other sales-related technology
Ability to assess market conditions and competitor activity to adjust sales approaches
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Experience providing technical product guidance, particularly related to steel pipe, is a plus
