PVF Oil & Gas Sales Specialist (#25-472)

Location: Houston, TX

Position Overview:

A well established pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF) manufacturer & distributor serving the energy markets is seeking an Oil & Gas Sales Specialist to support growth across a defined territory. This is a field based role focused on developing strong relationships with contractors, engineers, and project owners, while promoting innovative piping and connection solutions for a wide range of construction and retrofit applications.

The right candidate enjoys working independently, thrives in a technical sales environment, and is motivated by building long term customer partnerships.

What You’ll Do

Master the Product & Industry

  • Build deep product knowledge through structured training and hands on learning.

  • Develop a strong understanding of pipe joining technologies, competitive methods, mechanical systems, and how these solutions impact cost, safety, and schedule.

  • Stay current on major construction and energy projects, new developments in the oil and gas sector, and competitor activity.

  • Participate in trade associations, industry groups, and local events to expand market presence and stay embedded in the regional market.

Drive Territory Growth

  • Work with your regional manager to create a territory business plan that includes key account targets, sales projections, and promotional strategies.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through design discussions, specification review, bidding, site support, and close out.

  • Lead internal coordination with engineering, inside sales, and support teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Gather project details, specifications, pricing requirements, and timelines to support accurate proposals and purchasing decisions.

Build Strong Customer Relationships

  • Develop meaningful, long term relationships with contractors, engineering groups, distributors, and owners across the territory.

  • Meet with customers regularly, which may include after hours dinners, site visits, training sessions, and industry events.

  • Support distribution partners and maintain a balanced channel network.

  • Collaborate with other territory specialists and regional personnel to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Educate & Influence

  • Conduct job site demonstrations, tool training, and installation walk throughs to help customers understand best practices.

  • Deliver lunch and learn presentations or technical briefings for engineering groups and project teams.

  • Clearly communicate the value, performance advantages, and cost benefits of company solutions to decision makers at every level.

  • Position the company as the preferred solution provider on new construction, upgrades, and expansion projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical or business related fields are helpful.

  • Experience selling value added industrial or mechanical products, or working in construction, PVF, or related industries, is highly beneficial.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and manage a territory independently.

  • Strong communication skills, professional presence, and the ability to adjust to a wide range of audiences.

  • Self motivated, organized, and comfortable working without daily supervision.

  • Capable of creative problem solving, resourcefulness, and adapting to changing project demands.

  • Strong time management and project coordination skills.

  • Willingness to travel within the region, including occasional overnight trips.
