PVF Engineering Business Development Manager - Infrastructure (#25-471)

Position Overview:
A leading provider of engineered solutions for large scale infrastructure projects is seeking an Engineering Business Development Manager (EBDM) to support early stage project development and guide opportunities through technical scoping. This role serves as the link between business development and project execution, helping to establish product specifications, influence engineering decisions, and position company solutions with major owners and EPC firms.
The EBDM works closely with sales leadership, engineering teams, and operations to ensure that projects transition smoothly from initial concept through execution. This individual must be comfortable presenting technical material, coordinating with multiple internal groups, and engaging decision makers across all levels of a project organization.
Key Responsibilities
Market Insight & Strategy
Assess the infrastructure market within the assigned territory and collaborate with leadership to prioritize key accounts.
Track and map major projects progressing from early front-end engineering design (FEED) phases into procurement and construction.
Develop strong understanding of:
Product applications and technical capabilities.
Specification requirements and how they influence project design
Competitor technologies and their positioning.
Prospecting & Relationship Building
Identify and qualify new opportunities through outreach, networking, associations, and industry events.
Build relationships with engineering leaders, project directors, estimating managers, and other decision makers.
Gather market intelligence and strengthen connections through strategic engagement.
Sales Planning & Execution
Create an annual plan focused on increasing product specification and influence with owners, EPCs, and engineering firms.
Deliver technical presentations, support design discussions, and participate in key negotiations.
Guide opportunities from early engineering through handoff to internal execution teams.
Assist in the development of specifications, drawings, and technical documentation that align with the company's solutions.
Manage the full sales cycle - from project FEED development, through handoff to execution teams.
Reporting & Collaboration
Maintain accurate account and project data in the CRM system and share insights with cross functional teams.
Provide progress updates to sales leadership and identify challenges or new opportunities.
Support other initiatives or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred; a PE license is advantageous.
Experience in sales, business development, or technical account management within engineering, construction, or industrial markets.
Proven ability to manage long sales cycles, influence technical specifications, and win complex opportunities.
Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and remain adaptable in a fast moving environment.
Creative thinker with strong problem solving skills and the ability to navigate complex organizations.
Willing to travel overnight within the assigned territory.
