HR Manager/Director (#25-474)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Manager/Director to lead and oversee day-to-day Human Resources operations. The HR Manager will be responsible for managing key HR functions including employee relations, leave administration, benefits support, compliance, and HR processes that support our employees and leaders. This role will serve as a primary HR partner to management, ensuring alignment between HR practices and business needs while providing timely, accurate, and professional service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily HR operations and serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters.

  • Manage employee leave of absence programs (including FMLA, short-term disability, workers’ compensation, and other medical or personal leaves), ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

  • Ensure accurate tracking of PTO, sick time, and attendance; oversee related processes and reporting.

  • Review and manage required medical documentation for leaves, accommodations, and return-to-work, maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Serve as an advisor to managers on policy interpretation, employee relations issues, corrective action, and performance management.

  • Lead and continuously improve onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, orientation, and coordination with department leaders.

  • Maintain HR compliance by overseeing personnel records, documentation, and retention practices.

  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate coding and payment related to leave, PTO, and other HR-related transactions.

  • Support and/or lead initiatives related to benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communication.

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in collaboration with leadership.

  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, attendance, leave utilization, etc.) and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.

  • Support culture, engagement, and recognition initiatives to promote a positive and productive work environment.

  • Lead or participate in HR projects and process improvement efforts as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and HR experience will be considered.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR leadership, HR Manager, or senior generalist role.

  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and applicable state leave laws.

  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations, leave administration, and HR compliance.

  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred but not required.
