Position Overview:
The General Manager oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership across operations, sales, finance, and people management, while driving efficiency, compliance, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
Develop and execute business strategies to support operational excellence and financial performance.
Lead, coach, and develop the leadership team, ensuring alignment with goals and accountability for results.
Provide ongoing performance feedback, formal reviews, and development opportunities.
Foster employee engagement to improve retention, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Operations and Safety
Oversee all facility functions, including production, safety, quality, finance, human resources, and sales.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage production scheduling, workflow, equipment maintenance, and employee relations.
Monitor efficiency and quality to ensure customer specifications are consistently met.
Approve plant upgrades and equipment improvements to optimize operations.
Financial and Business Performance
Own financial performance, including quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting.
Analyze operational and financial data to measure productivity and performance.
Establish and manage sales and marketing objectives.
Partner cross-functionally to align pricing, sales targets, and production capacity.
Customer and Workforce Leadership
Build and maintain strong customer relationships and address issues as needed.
Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet production goals.
Collaborate on policy updates and organizational improvements.
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze data and drive informed decisions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
Knowledge of pipe coating materials and sales strategies is preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
Five or more years of sales experience with demonstrated results.
Five or more years of plant or manufacturing management experience.
