Position Overview 

We are seeking a motivated Sales & Business Development Trainee to join a growing industrial distribution organization. The position begins in inside sales and offers a clear progression into outside sales and business development through structured training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.

Job Summary

The Sales & Business Development Trainee will support day-to-day sales operations while learning the fundamentals of the industry, products, and customer relationships. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the inside sales team by responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotes, and assisting with order management.

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers throughout the sales cycle.

  • Develop a working knowledge of product offerings to effectively support customers and identify new opportunities.

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate order processing and timely fulfillment.

  • Participate in ongoing training to develop sales skills, product knowledge, and industry insight.

  • Assist with business development efforts, including lead generation and customer follow-up.

  • Conduct basic market research to help identify potential customers and new business opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity in the CRM system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • High level of motivation with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience is a plus.
