Position Overview

Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead enterprise-wide financial operations and drive long-term fiscal strength. Reporting to the COO with close collaboration with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will play a critical role in financial governance, capital strategy, and business growth initiatives.

This role blends financial oversight with operational partnership, supporting an owner operator environment focused on sustainable growth, value creation, and disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization’s overall financial strategy, aligning planning and performance with long-term business objectives

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insight to support strategic decision-making

  • Oversee all core financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, payroll, and reporting

  • Direct multi-year financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling initiatives

  • Lead financial strategy for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments, including valuation, due diligence, and integration

  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and external financial partners

  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and liquidity planning

  • Champion strong financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance

  • Oversee audit processes and liaise with external auditors and advisors

  • Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability, cost structure, pricing strategy, and efficiency

  • Develop and report on financial performance metrics and executive dashboards

  • Provide financial oversight on major contracts, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience

  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification

  • Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles within complex, growth-focused organizations

  • Strong understanding of enterprise financial systems, reporting frameworks, and internal controls

  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership

  • Experience supporting a transition from privately held to publicly traded structure preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline, MBA considered an asset

  • Experience within power generation, manufacturing, or similar industrial sectors considered an asset

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering financial initiatives on time and within scope
