Business Development Manager - Pumps & Skid Packages (#26-506)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly responsive, technically curious, and collaborative Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of our client's Engineered Pump Systems & Skid Packages product group. This role serves as a regional subject matter expert and technical resource, working closely with field sales, inside sales teams, and customers to identify requirements, configure equipment solutions, and help close complex, high-value projects.

The ideal candidate is an efficient, digitally savvy technical professional who can quickly evaluate fluid/flow requirements, utilize pump selection software, apply pricing guidance, and seamlessly collaborate with internal Engineering and Project Management teams to deliver optimized customer solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • System Configuration & Selection: Provide deep technical expertise across industrial pump technologies and modular skid systems, including system selection, fluid application suitability, and performance considerations.

  • Proposal & Quotation Development: Utilize product selection software, technical catalogs, and supplier portals to prepare timely, accurate, and competitive quotes for standard, configured, or custom pump packages.

  • Sales Enablement & Field Support: Work directly with regional sales representatives, inside sales, and leadership to elevate pump and skid package selling capabilities. Conduct application reviews and provide technical support to uncover unmet customer needs.

  • Technical Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, core suppliers, and fabrication teams to develop optimized modular solutions tailored to specific customer project requirements.

  • First Line of Technical Response: Serve as a primary technical resource for application questions, configuration logic, and specification reviews related to engineered pump systems.

  • Pipeline & Opportunity Support: Support the sales organization in moving complex projects and high-value, high-margin applications through the sales pipeline.

  • Strategic Alignment: Act as a centralized technical resource operating seamlessly within decentralized regional sales structures to ensure consistent project execution.

  • Data & Process Tracking: Maintain accurate project tracking, configuration details, and technical documentation to contribute to continuous improvement of the sales process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial sales support, applications engineering, inside sales, or technical commercial roles.

  • Product Knowledge: 3+ years of experience working with industrial pumps, packaged modular skid systems, rotating equipment, or closely related fluid-handling technologies.

  • Technical Aptitude: Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and translate complex engineering concepts into customer value. Good knowledge of API 610 and ANSI specifications.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/science discipline or business with equivalent technical experience.

  • Organization & Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable operating effectively within a matrixed or decentralized corporate sales model.

  • Travel: Ability to travel regionally as required for client site visits, plant walks, or collaborative engineering meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with OEMs, EPCs, or large industrial end-users in the process industries.

  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas, Power Gen, Chemical, or industrial water/wastewater markets.

  • Existing technical relationships with pump manufacturers, component suppliers, or regional industrial clients.
