About the Role

In this fully remote position, you’ll mentor a skilled team, lead tax operations, and work directly with business owners who value proactive guidance and accurate financials. You’ll collaborate with experienced tax professionals, bookkeepers, and strategists while contributing to a culture that values accountability, growth, and respect for all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review monthly financial packages and mentor bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and consistency

  • Produce high‑quality management and financial reporting packages

  • Lead the tax function and uphold high standards of excellence

  • Review and prepare complex individual and business tax returns

  • Support proactive tax planning in partnership with senior tax leadership

  • Conduct advanced tax research and assist with IRS and state notices

  • Develop and mentor team members to support their professional growth

What Makes You a Strong Fit

The ideal candidate is a technically strong tax professional with deep GAAP knowledge and a passion for leadership, client service, and team development.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3–5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience

  • Proven ability to prepare complex individual and small business returns

  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws (Texas experience preferred)

  • Expert‑level QuickBooks Online proficiency

  • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills

  • Experience with Canopy, Keeper App, Intuit ProConnect, or Reach Reporting is a plus
