Procurement and Supply Chain Manager (#26-478)

Location: Greater Houston Area, TX

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage all aspects of procurement, sourcing, logistics, and inventory control across operations. This role is critical in supporting production, engineering, and project delivery teams by ensuring materials and components are procured cost-effectively, delivered on time, and meet required quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep supply chain expertise, and experience working in complex industrial or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and budget requirements.

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms.

  • Establish and maintain long-term supplier relationships while managing vendor performance.

Supply Chain Planning, Operations, and Logistics

  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain activities, including demand planning, inventory management, and logistics coordination.

  • Optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs, mitigate risk, and improve overall efficiency.

  • Coordinate logistics operations such as transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Inventory and Materials Control

  • Implement and manage inventory tracking systems to maintain optimal stock levels that support production schedules.

  • Monitor inventory turnover and identify opportunities for cost savings and waste reduction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with senior leadership to support strategic planning and financial decision-making.

  • Collaborate daily with internal teams across engineering, R&D, production, and project management.

  • Support new product introductions by securing required materials and coordinating supplier lead times.

  • Maintain regular communication with external partners and vendors to ensure transparency and alignment.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, vendor RFQs, and supply chain collaboration.

  • Experience working with ERP systems, including implementation and optimization.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices related to supply chain and procurement.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with turbine-driven power generation systems or rotating equipment is a plus.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within energy, manufacturing, or technology sectors.

  • Proven negotiation and contract management experience.

  • Experience with global sourcing and logistics coordination.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPSM, CSCP, or APICS.

  • Familiarity with energy systems, turbine manufacturing, or rotating equipment.

  • Experience with ISO standards and lean manufacturing principles.
