Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable accounting professional to in Baytown, TX. This role will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with key transactional and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day accounting functions and ensure timely, accurate financial recordkeeping.
Process high-volume data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions within SAP ERP or similar systems.
Assist with bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis to maintain accurate financial reporting.
Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, including timely vendor payments, customer collections, and proper documentation.
Prepare and organize financial records for audits while ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
Support budgeting processes and perform basic financial analysis to assist with reporting and business decisions.
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes.
Qualifications
Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support roles.
Supervisory experience in a finance or accounting environment.
Banking knowledge, including understanding of banking processes and transactions.
Treasury knowledge, including cash management and related financial activities.
Tax knowledge, including exposure to sales tax, customs tax, and income tax processes.
Experience with business budgeting and financial monitoring to support reporting and decision-making.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP ERP, or comparable accounting software.
Relevant exposure to SAP ERP systems for financial processing and reporting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles including debits and credits, journal entries, general ledger activity, and reconciliations.
Excellent data entry accuracy with strong attention to detail.
Strong math, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
