Product and Metallurgy Coordinator

Perform functions to define, validate, and monitor metallurgical aspects of all processes and products. Assess manufacturing feasibility for products and perform failure analyses as required. Lead the development of broad metallurgical understanding and capabilities within operations and the laboratory.

Safety

• The employee is required to be familiarized with the company’s safety procedures and rules to perform the duties of this job according to general and departmental safety rules.

·       The employee must use the required personal protective equipment based on the job duties (refer to PPE matrix in Flex).

·       They must report immediately to the Manager any accident that involved another employee, a customer, a vendor, or themselves.

·       Employees must immediately report any unsafe act, condition, or equipment, cooperate with any accident investigations, and participate actively in Axis’s safety training programs.

Responsibilities

·       Perform functions to review customer specifications and evaluate manufacturing feasibility requests.

·       Determine product and material dispositions including product downgrade or re-allocation.

·       Responsible to perform product and process validations for all metallurgical processes as required by API and customer specifications.

·       Defines thermal processing parameters for all metallurgical processes ranging from ERW welding to heat treatment.

·       Defines and documents standard API and proprietary product metallurgical, mechanical property, corrosion, or dimensional performance requirements

·       Monitors heat treatment performance and associated process capabilities for issues and collaborates with Heat Treatment Manager to improve processes.

·       Coordinate failure analysis of products and materials.
