Controller - Manufacturing (#25-455)

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented, and experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of the privately held company based in Houston, Texas. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The Controller will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, supporting executive decision-making, and ensuring fiscal integrity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in collaboration with department heads.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax filings.
Coordinate and manage external audits, liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
Support strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, and financial modeling.
Lead financial risk management efforts and develop mitigation strategies.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Implement and maintain ERP systems and financial software to enhance operational efficiency.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
Experience in the energy or manufacturing sector strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive financial strategy.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
