ABOUT THE JOB

The applications engineer is responsible for providing conceptual engineering, cost estimating and proposal preparation for the Oil &Gas, Midstream and Renewable Energy industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review scope definition and project specifications, develop equipment sizing, and determine material to be used.

  • Prepare cost estimates for the technical/commercial proposals.

  • Propose alternatives that enable the lowest compliant bid while providing the highest value to the customer.

  • Participate in the development of the Process Flow Diagrams.

  • Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the products in the global market.

  • Communicate orally and in writing with customers, sales engineers, operations and engineering departments.

  • Maintain customer relationships; participate in client clarification meetings as required.

  • Learn to develop process simulations in HYSYS.

  • Keep the proposals status up-to-date on Salesforce (cloud-based software).

  • Enter all sales orders for new equipment into Prophet 21 (P-21) software system.

  • Consolidate all aspects of the order before it’s released to project management for execution. The AE will attend any kick-off meeting and continue to support any questions that may occur during the execution of the order.

  • Help to develop and maintain sales tools, material and other relevant products for internal and external use.

  • Duties must be performed consistently with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Position may require some domestic and international travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of product mechanical design, thermodynamics, chemical processing, and instrumentation & controls.

  • Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed.

  • Ability to generate alternative solutions.

  • Ability to listen to customer and retain important facts.

  • Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships.
