Expanding Our Mindset in the New Work World

Mary Ann Faremouth is guest host on The Price of Business

Interview with Rox Burkey

It's important to understand the business that you're targeting as a potential new hire, and see if various things that that organization offers, maps to what you want, as a person. And so there's things that a potential new hire, before interviewing should do to really understand that customer, certainly getting a feel for what their web presence might be. Because, you know, let's face it, most people begin their whole shopping adventure, be it for services or products or whatever, online first. And then want to take a look at their social media presence and some of the comments that are in there. If you have an awful lot of comments that are negative, and you think your background is going to help them turn that around into positive for whatever job you're interested in working in, then that's a good thing for you to know, before you interview with the hiring authority. So research is the primary thing.

In this episode, join Mary Ann as she interviews Rox Burkey, Customer Experience/Technology expert and Advisory Board Member to the University of Houston.

Mindset is job one. You have to be able to look at an organization and make sure that they’re mapping where you want your career to map to.
