Cultivating Strong Relationships Produced “Revolutionary Results”

Mary Ann Faremouth’s father always told her that cultivating strong relationships in life could produce revolutionary results. And so she took inspiration from his words to write her third book, the just released, aptly titled “Revolutionary Results.” With it the recruitment specialist and award-winning author applies her decades of experience of intuitively reading people and practical networking know-how to convey the importance of connections — with one’s self and others — to build a great professional and personal life.

Call it serendipity, perhaps, but Faremouth’s book was set in motion essentially because of a long-term successful business relationship of her own. A client in Houston’s pipeline service industry and another person wanting to help a friend introduced the author to a highly regarded media mogul. Kevin Price produces the long-running, nationally syndicated “Price of Business” program. Faremouth began writing for the show at the onset of the Covid pandemic, and an expansive version of those articles comprises the majority of this book.

Covid had something else to do with the birth of “Revolutionary Results.” During the years of Covid, the author had much time, like many of us, to reflect on many different things, both interpersonal and professional. The tagline on her book says it best: “Life Lessons About Relationships, Integrity, and Contributing to the World.” The articles in this book pull from a wide variety of sources, such as Mother Nature, working for her father at his popular restaurant in Melvindale, Michigan, sitting on the porch with her cherished grandmother, Mimi, an interviewee who shared how he helped a kid make the baseball team by helping him with his batting practice, and even what pomegranates can teach us.

Faremouth’s unique style of drawing metaphors and analogies runs quite a wide gamut.

Some essays encourage stronger relationships with ourselves. In “Flit Through Change Like the Butterfly,” she reminds readers that, like the butterfly, when our old form no longer serves us, we must let it go. “The next time you see a butterfly and admire its beauty, reflect on the changes it had to undergo to become such a beautiful version of itself.”

Other articles in the compilation urge demonstrating go-get-’em dedication to building ties with others. With humor and humility, Faremouth writes in “Falling for the Human Element” about how actually falling on her face in an accident allowed her to savor the beauty that came from a client’s gracious appreciation of her efforts.

With this book, Faremouth veers from her previously published “Revolutionary Recruiting” and “Revolutionary Reinvention.” Where those books focused primarily on being in alignment with your passions and interests to be able to find the right job or hiring that right person, “Revolutionary Results” is more about life lessons coming from various places and becoming your best self in your personal as well as professional endeavors.

Its foreword also sprang from a long-term relationship. During an annual gathering of a professional association to which she belongs, Faremouth had the pleasure of hearing David Wright, CEO of Dale Carnegie Texas, speak. She felt his presentation was “on target” for the changing times of the “New Work World,” as she calls it, and invited him to be on her podcast, “Career Can Do.” That episode was so well received by her global listeners she asked Wright if he would write her foreword. His words invite the reader to delve into the chapters:

“The author has captured timeless truisms and presents them in a fresh light that will compel you to think deeply about your life and, even more importantly, take action.”

A lifetime of various relationships has allowed Faremouth to delve into lessons that provide inspiration, reflection, and hope for how we can all navigate our own personal and professional paths in a way that will provide meaning and expansive growth so that the reader’s light can shine bright for the rest of their days.

As she stated in her introduction, Faremouth hopes you enjoy “Revolutionary Results” as much as she enjoyed writing it! It is available for purchase now in print and for Kindle on Amazon.
