Position Overview

The FBE Coating Manager will oversee fusion‑bonded epoxy coating operations in a manufacturing facility. This role focuses on in‑plant production — managing equipment, personnel, and processes to ensure coated pipes meet all technical, quality, and safety standards. No fieldwork or pipeline installation activities required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer coating specifications and compare requirements with the relevant coating capabilities of the manufacturing environment.

• Manage daily operations of the FBE coating line(s), ensuring smooth workflow from preparation through curing and inspection.

• Supervise and schedule plant personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and maintenance technicians.

• Oversee surface preparation, electrostatic spray application, and curing cycles; ensure compliance with ISO 21809‑2, CSA Z245.20, ASTM A775.

• Implement quality checks: coating thickness, adhesion tests, holiday detection, and visual inspections.

• Train and evaluate coating staff; promote a safety-first culture.

• Oversee operation and preventive maintenance of coating equipment and powder handling systems.

• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in industrial coatings within manufacturing; pipeline or heavy steel experience preferred.

• NACE Level II or III certification preferred.

• Strong knowledge of FBE coating processes and QC methods.

• Proven team management and leadership skills.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and Lean Manufacturing.
